Our History

Dansville Sign Company was originally formed back in 1950 by Don Nice and Art Vanderwerken.  Their very first signs were the entrance signs coming into Dansville.  Art stayed with the company for a few years then moved on to other things.  Don continued on with the sign company.

Later my father partnered with Bob Dawson while also working with my brother Jason and renamed the company, Custom Craft Signs.  Bob stayed with the company for many years before moving on, while Don continued.

In 1989 I, Nancy Nice, moved back to NY and started working with my father.  Eventually I took over the business from my father in 1992.  Since then we have moved forward with the times replacing hand lettering with vinyl, building 3 dimensional signs, antique lettering, neon/LED, and many others.

In 2016 my nephew Lucus joined the company making it three generations of Nices conducting business in the sign shop.  We also incorporated and went back to the original name, Dansville Sign Co., Inc.
